Message received from RAAF colleagues:
"As part of the Amberley Air Show build-up, SQNLDR Paton has organised for 97.3FM (radio station) to come out to RAAF Amberley on the morning of Wed 1 Oct 08 to do a live outside broadcast.
This event is scheduled for 0530-0830 approx.
Tied in with this, 97.3FM will be putting on a BBQ breakfast for the "audience". They had hoped to speak with a couple of family members of deployed personnel; which gave me the idea of making this a special event for our deployed personnel's families. I have advised DCO, but did not want any 9FSB families to miss out, therefore forgive me if we double-up.
At 0630h that morning, there will also be a charity event taking place. It is a C-17A pull that has been organised by CPL Scott Fairweather PTI 382ECSS. 50 airfield defence guards will attempt to pull a C-17A (therefore the event will be held on the base). This might be a fun event for the children especially.
As part of our base population, we would very much welcome 9FSB personnel and families at this event. If there is anything that you had e.g. a static display or similar that you wanted to include, so that our Army families don't feel it is too Air Force, please just let me know. We will then arrange to have that in place (being local media, anything loud I am sure will go down well).
If ADAA members would like to attend could you please contact me and I will arrange to get you through the RAAF gates to be host for this event. This could be an alternate date for any ADAA meeting, or an additional activity for those in the area.
