Updates as they come in, for Anzac Day 2015 Gallipoli
05-Oct-2011 - Message from Ron McCaffery:
A quick update Arnhem Pilgrimage 2011. Reg Hollins and I recently returned from the 2011 Arnhem Pilgrimage where we were superbly hosted by Paul and Dini van Halteren.
Visits were carried out at Air Depatchers graves at St Odenrode - very wet last year - and other sites including Oosterbeek Airborne cemetery and the AD Memorial Service on the Sunday.
Socially, the BBQ went very well with thoughts turning to last year with Mr HEINEKEN and assorted activities.
Guy and Frans ask to be remembered to all who they met as did the couple who commandeered two gardens to make the BBQ work. A successful weekend. Back to Normandy on Friday where I shall watch France v England on Sat at Pascals bar before the battlefield tour.
Regards to all. Ron Mccaffery

A quick update on what Ralph Bennett and I have been up to on behalf of the ADAA.
We carried out a recce over ANZAC period at Gallipoli. Very moving, very well organised and cold during the silent hours, no booze allowed on site.
We have made provisional hotel and coach bookings for period 22 Apr - 29 Apr 2015 to take in Istanbul, drive to Gallipoli and visit Helen of Troy area.
Enquiries have been made reference all meeting up in Crete around 12 Apr, then visiting the ANZAC site on Crete and a 5 day cruise round the eastern Med before disembarking at Istanbul.
After visiting Troy , going over to Cyprus, where a trip to the holy lands can be arranged as well as going to Tobruk in Libya, Tobruk was defended by Australians during the seige in WW2. Possibly going up to Bengazi too and back to Cyprus where all disperse under own arrangements.
We are actively pursuing costs as much as we can. I intend to give a briefing to as many interested people as possible at the Reunion in Wellington 2012.
